About Me!
First I would like to thank you for coming and visiting. It makes me very happy to read your lovely comments and have the chance to visit you back; I have found amazing people through this blog.
My name is Anna, I write and photograph the Chefwanabe site. I’m a Brazilian expatriate living in New york City but was lucky enough to have already lived in Sydney Australia for 3 years (I miss you terribly Ozzys) and in Los Angeles for 2 .
I love to travel and try different country foods. I love to cook; as much as I love to eat, I love to cook things like pizza, pastas and breads made entirely by scratch. And that’s probably because of my Italian ancestors. I’m a cookbook addict I can’t resist them I own more than 850 recipe books ( and this number just keeps growing somehow).
The majority of the recipes here are my original recreations. There are a few family recipes and some adaptations of existing recipes. I’m not a chef or professional cook. But I have studied the subject extensively. My approach to food is use seasonal, fresh products. You can totally spot me at the Farmer’s Market photographing and choosing my next ingredients for my meals. Because I believe the best ingredients make the best food.

Thanks Kathleen, I didn’t draw the the heather But I made the design of the site, and them I had help from a programer to make small changes to the template. Don’t even get me started about missing Sydney…. everyday I have to find strength to not pack my luggages and go back. I absolutely love that place.
Anna,
LOVE your site and honestly, I am not at all Italian, but I swear we could be related. I love your art work as well and wondered if you drew those darling characters on your header. Really cute work. Not to mention the recipes. I just discovered you today with your Zuc Recipe. Incredible, just great. Thanks for the inspiration. Can’t wait to try it.
Kathleen
PS I lived in Sydney for 3 years too and STILL miss it. Was a long time ago! Happy June and I will look for you next time I am in S. Cal. Farmers Markets.
I’m debating which is better… your pictures or your recipes. Love what you’re doing and how you’re presenting it. I think I’m heading out to a farmers market today after seeing so many of you amazing pics.

Hello,
I visited your website and I am very much impressed with your hardwork on it. I was wondering if can add a link to your website on my resource page at mexicovacationtravels.com. I am trying to link with websites that my visitors might find useful and visit them when they leave our site. And also if you think my site is worthy, maybe you can link back to it. If that is fine with you, Please send me the title and URL you wanted me to use for your link and I’ll send you mine on my next reply. I will be looking forward to your reply. Take care and thanks.
Luis
Thanks Eric, I liked Your bagel cream cheese and sausage idea.
Love the layout and the recipes you have on here. I like how you get straight to the point.
Thanks for sharing,
Eric
Thanks Jen I’m glad you liked, and Chelsea Market is great, I only think their produce is a bit lousy, they could do better. Than it would be perfect.
Your site is wonderful – I really love your photography. I love reading blogs by people who live in New York… it’s one of my favorite places to visit. I love to go to Chelsea Market when I’m in the city and just wander around… Not living in the city, there aren’t too many options other than the regular old grocery store around here.
Looking forward to reading more of your blog!
Hi Anna, could you let me know your email address?
Hi Sharon, I’m Glad you liked it, Nava is the best PR ever.
Hi Anna! It’s Sharon. Your husbands mother told me about your website. Your blogs are very interesting and I did happen to steal a recipe. Please tell Sam I said hello. Love, love, love you guys. We’ll see you in December… can’t wait! xoxoxo
